Ever-Care Standards & Specifications (a quick summary)

Wood: thoroughly seasoned and kiln dried to a moisture content of 6 to 8% prior to manufacturing.

Face Veneers: No less than .025 before sanding; either rotary cut slices or flat slice for exposed panels; veneers hand matched for colour, grain and uniform appearance.

High Pressure Laminated Plastics: Plastic faced surfaces with 45 lb density particle board or equal core; backing sheet of .03 in with urea resin or equal for type 11 bondage.

Joints: All joints will be either splined, mortise and tenon, doweled, or full length blocked; glued and screwed in two directions following best practice construction.

Drawers: Drawer fronts minimum 3/4 thick, sides and backs minimum 1/2 inch thick melamine with all exposed surfaces taped in matching .05 PVC edging. Bottoms of 3/16 white marlite, contained in dadoes on all four sides and stapled to assure continuing squareness.

Glides: 5/8" diameter, non-marring, corrosion-proof plastic glides.

Scoring or "V" Grooving: 1/16 x 1/16 deep routed edges, sanded smooth.

Finishes: Highly skilled specialists apply Ever-care's catalyzed lacquer which resists water, alcohol, cosmetics, and even paint remover , unless left on for a prolonged period of time. Each step is carefully quality assured between sandings and applications.
